Manhattan Associates secures RFID leadership position

Supplier News

ARC Advisory Group's recent Warehouse Management System (WMS) Worldwide Outlook Summary listed Manhattan Associates as the leading supplier of RFID, based on software and services, with 31.3% of market share.

Manhattan Associates has provided RFID solutions for more than 60 companies in the consumer goods, life sciences, food and grocery, retail, logistics service providers and technology industries.

Shire Pharmaceuticals, a global specialty pharmaceutical company, sought an RFID solution that would enable compliance with Wal-Mart requirements. The company selected Manhattan Associates' RFID solutions. With the help of Manhattan Associates' project team, Shire Pharmaceuticals’ implementation was smooth and came in under budget.

Olympus America Inc., a precision technology leader in designing and delivering innovative solutions in healthcare and consumer electronics, is implementing Manhattan Associates' integrated RFID solutions as part of its existing Warehouse Management solution purchased from Manhattan Associates.

One of the real benefits to Olympus is the integration with the rest of Manhattan Associates' solutions. The solution will support Olympus in meeting compliance requirements for its retailers.

Manhattan Associates introduced its RFID solutions in 2003, based upon technology and industry needs. Today, its RFID offerings include Integration Platform for RFID, EPC Manager, Enterprise EPC Manager and RFID services as well as its award winning RFID in a Boxoffering, which includes hardware, software, tags, readers and other peripherals.

These comprehensive, EPC-compliant solutions have been part of both targeted and enterprise-wide RFID initiatives for companies looking to address compliance requirements as well as those looking to improve the overall efficiency of their supply chain.

Many companies have completed implementation and are addressing trading partner requirements and government and consumer demand for improved product tracking, traceability and labor productivity.

RFID is playing an increasingly integral part in the evolving global supply chain, according to Manhattan Associates. It can help to solve issues in the supply chain industry today – with customer safety, expiration times, security and fraud.

With RFID solutions and services as well as product assessment capabilities, Manhattan Associates offers multiple ways for customers to discover how RFID technology can fit their needs and how to implement the right solution for their business.
