SUPPLY chain solutions provider, Manhattan Associates , remains the leader in supply chain execution solutions, according to Forrester Research, AMR Research, ARC Advisory Group and Aberdeen Group.
Forrester Research recently took a close look at the current state of warehouse management systems and transportation systems. According to Forrester Research Manhattan Associates still maintains its leadership in warehouse management solutions, even while the company moves into the larger integrated supply chain planning/supply chain execution space.
Forrester Research found that Manhattan's new service-oriented architecture strikes a balance between configurability and integrated best practices that allows customers to limit the need for customisations while still providing best-in-class processes (The Forrester Wave: Warehouse Management Systems, Q1 2006, Forrester Research, Inc., January 2006).
In addition to its warehouse management expertise, on which the company was founded, the 2002 acquisition of Logistics.com strengthened Manhattan Associates' position in the transportation management space.
Since that time, it has focused, invested further and taken a solid leadership position.
Forrester Research stated that overall Manhattan Associates establishes itself as the lead in ground transportation solutions.
"The vendor edges out the competition with a solid foundation in both planning and procurement and unmatched carrier and fleet management offerings,” said Noha Tohamy of Forrester (The Forrester Wave: Transportation Management Solutions, Q1 2006, Forrester Research, Inc., February 2006).
Other analyst reports validate Manhattan Associates' leadership position. In October 2005, AMR Research reported that Manhattan is recognised as the market revenue leader among the specialty Warehouse Management Solution vendor and is one of only a few public non-ERP supply chain software companies.
AMR further stated that Manhattan is a low-risk choice for companies concerned with international deployments, they have large customer bases in major global regions and have had recent success in China (Greg Aimi, AMR Research, The 2005 AMR Research Warehouse Management System Selection Guide; October 2005).
In ARC Advisory Group's annual Warehouse Management report, Manhattan Associates maintains its global leadership as the leading solution provider across geographies and tiers for most industries – especially the ones that Manhattan Associates serves.
"Manhattan Associates is the largest supplier of warehouse management solutions and the market leader in many verticals," indicates Steve Banker of AMR. This report also listed Manhattan Associates as the leading supplier of RFID with more than 31% of market share (ARC Advisory Group, Warehouse Management Systems Worldwide Outlook - Market Analysis and Forecast Through 2009; August 2005).
Aberdeen Group’s research also found that based on recent enterprise sales of strategic Transportation Management solutions, Manhattan Associates is the current leader for complex transportation projects.
Sales over the last 18-24 months indicate that Manhattan Associates will continue to gain market share and attract enterprises looking for new supply chain innovations, according to Aberdeen.
This recognition from third party industry experts are key independent indicators that Manhattan Associates' strategy and solutions are resonating with both customers and the marketplace.
Now offering both Integrated Planning Solutions and Integrated Logistics Solutions, the company continues to expand and enhance its solution footprint through organic growth and through strategic acquisitions that support its goal of providing complete supply chain solutions and a comprehensive platform for supply chain management.
In 2005 Manhattan Associates' organic revenue growth was 11%, or slightly more than twice the market growth rate.
