A supply chain solutions provider, Manhattan Associates, has deployed its integrated logistics solutions, built on Microsoft.NET for Hot Springs, one of Australia and New Zealand’s major suppliers of apparel and licensed fashion to the retail industry.
With the .NET-based solution, Hot Springs can now reach its operational goals while increasing customer satisfaction and enabling future growth not only in Australia/ New Zealand, but also across Asia and the UK.
“Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management solution will be a key enabler of our continued growth as an apparel distributor,” said Venu Varma, General Manager for Hot Springs.
“We selected Manhattan Associates based on its reputation and its people, and because the solution integrated with our existing enterprise resource planning system, Microsoft’s Dynamics AX (formerly known as Axapta).”
The solution has been successfully implemented at Hot Springs’s 10,000 square metre distribution centres at Minchinbury, and has streamlined the warehousing and distribution of all of the company’s 42 brands and licenses across the facility.
“One of the benefits of working with Manhattan Associates has been that the implementation process was very well run and very well documented” commented Varna.
“This enabled all the parties involved to stay focussed on the ultimate goal and achieve our objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner.”
Prior to implementing Manhattan Associates’ Integrated Logistics Solutions, built on Microsoft .NET, Hot Springs’ paper-based systems were becoming insufficient to meet the complexity of the company’s operations.
“We were using manual systems and Excel spreadsheets to try and run a very diverse business, but there were just too many variables for a manual process to be effective on a day-to-day basis. Each of our brands serves a broad spectrum of customers – from independent boutique stores right through to the big retail chains like Target and David Jones – each with their own distinct distribution requirements.”
“By selecting a state-of-the-art system like Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management solution to optimise our procedures and streamline our processes, combined with the effectiveness of our new Symbol RF units, we will be able to increase the productivity of our workforce and make better use of our resources.”
As the next stage of Hot Springs’s supply chain transformation, the company will implement Manhattan Associates’ Billing Management solution (often deployed by Logistics Services Providers to track costs by customer), which will enable them to capture all inventory handling, storage and fulfilment activities by company division.
This will help Hot Springs’ management team determine which processes, items, customers and suppliers are more costly than others and enable them to make more informed business decisions.
“Manhattan Associates is pleased to offer a solution that will support Hot Springs as it continues to grow,” said Jeff Baum, Manhattan Associates’ vice president, Asia Pacific.
“Our Integrated Logistics Solutions built on Microsoft .NET provides Hot Springs with a flexible tool to add structure to its distribution processes and the capabilities to scale with its operations.”
