MAINPAC Pty Ltd has released Mainet AM (Asset Management), a new product in its .NET solution suite that reflects the rapidly escalating market demand for this technology platform.
Mainet AM joins Mainet Enterprise, which was announced earlier this year, to expand the Mainpac .NET Solution Suite.
The Mainpac .NET solution suite is the new foundation of Mainpac’s product offerings. All are based on the leading edge technologies of Microsoft’s .NET environment and web services.
One of the key benefits of the .NET solution suite is the low cost of investment in infrastructure, owing to web deployment of the software. This also means much lower ongoing maintenance costs of the user environment.
The open systems standards used by the .NET Solution Suite enables the easy integration of legacy systems, so that existing investments can be leveraged.
Mainet AM (Asset Management) is a solution for organisations requiring a single site system without the integration of an enterprise solution. It combines all the modules that were found in previous versions of Mainpac products and provides them on the .NET platform delivered through a browser interface.
The research into the new technology platform was developed as part of a strategy called Project Longbow, which was initiated as the result of a major AusIndustry grant in 2004.
Chief scientist Dr Tom Earle says Project Longbow has two major objectives. The first is to create reusable software services for asset management that can be loosely coupled with other components. The second objective is business process flexibility based on event-driven real time process change.
