Madison Technologies  have launched the Moxa EDS-P510 Gigabit PoE managed Ethernet switch. The Moxa EDS-P510 Ethernet switch is equipped with 4 IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE ports and provides connected devices with up to 15.4 watts of PoE power per port.

The ability to transmit data and power simultaneously saves on wiring costs, and the industrial grade design makes it suitable for harsh and outdoor environments.

The Moxa EDS-P510 Ethernet switch provides advanced power management functions. It features the “PD (powered device) failure recovery” function for detecting the status of connected powered devices.

When a PD fails or shuts down, the EDS-P510 Ethernet switch can reset and re-activate the PD to ensure that it works properly. The “timetabling” function makes it easy to configure a PD to work at specific times, and saves energy since the PD is not running continuously.

In addition, when connected devices could cause power overload problems, the “power limit setting” function can be used to pre-set the power limit. When active and a new device are connected to the switch, devices will be disconnected automatically based on user-defined priorities or on a “next port” basis.

The Moxa EDS-P510 Ethernet switch comes with 3 combo Gigabit Ethernet ports that can be used to form a redundant Gigabit ring and uplink.

In addition, the SFP ports ensure high-bandwidth transmission for both data and video, making the EDS-P510 Ethernet switch suitable for outdoor applications that involve connecting devices such as IP cameras, APs, and intercoms. These applications can benefit from the scalable backbone construction and Power-over-Ethernet support of the EDS-P510 Ethernet switch.

The EDS-P510 Ethernet switch has the following features:

  • 4 IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE ports
  • Power consumption detection, classification, and PoE scheduling functions
  • Support for turbo ring and advanced management and security features
  • 3 combo Gigabit ports, 2 ports for redundant ring and 1 port for uplink
