Machinery Automation and Robotics have won the 2008 Telstra New South Wales Business of the Year Award on 5th September, after being selected from the state’s best businesses.
The Silverwater-based automated manufacturing providers were selected from over 21 businesses and received the award from Ms Deena Shiff, Group Managing Director of Telstra Business and Telstra Business Awards Ambassador.
Machinery Automation and Robotics were also awarded the Panasonic Australia Medium Business Award, which recognises outstanding businesses with 21 to 200 employees. They also won the AMP Innovation Award for businesses that have introduced an innovative product, service or process.
Machinery Automation and Robotics (MAR) design, build and integrate automated manufacturing solutions, incorporating advanced robotics for production critical industries.
Through research and development, MAR have developed their own proprietary technologies that enable their manufacturing clients to compete in the global market. Established in 1987, MAR have grown and currently, employ a team of 47 members servicing clients across Australia and internationally. MAR have recently entered the American market and are looking to expand further and supply to European manufacturers.
Clyde Campbell, CEO of Machinery Automation and Robotics, said that the Telstra awards are prestigious and benchmark the company against the state’s best businesses. According to him, the award reflected the dedication and commitment of the entire MAR team.
The New South Wales award winners will now compete against other state and territory winners at the national final in Sydney on Friday, 10 October. Overall winners from each state and territory also have an opportunity to win the 2008 Telstra Australian Business of the Year.
