Mach Communications has been appointed a value added reseller for Orbcomm in Australia and New Zealand.
“Orbcomm welcomes Mach Communications to our global network of value added resellers.
“Australia is an important market and we have made substantial investments in ground infrastructure and personnel to build and improve our services.
“We are excited to be working with Mach and realising the potential that we see in this market,” said Christian Allred – senior vice president, International, Orbcomm.
“Orbcomm is an exciting addition to our portfolio of services. Satellite allows our customers to have telemetry coverage over the whole of Australia and New Zealand with one device, by complementing our existing GSM/GPRS/3G/HSDPA service platforms” said Shane Murphy, managing director Mach Communications.
“As a specialist M2M data satellite network, Orbcomm is ideal for applications such as vehicle tracking, personal safety, utility metering, shipping, asset and resource monitoring.”
“For us the timing of this agreement is excellent, as many telemetry users are still searching for a replacement for existing CDMA and radio based systems. Orbcomm has exceptional coverage over areas of Australia that terrestrial networks do not reach,” said Shane Murphy
Mach Communications is offering services both in Orbcomm only mode and as a dual mode product when paired with GPRS.
Devices that travel cross country can be tracked and monitored simply and cost-effectively on one mobile data account throughout their whole journey.
Developer kits and packages are offered to assist application providers in starting their development cycle.
Robust devices which incorporate Stellar Satellite Communications Ltd. modems are available from M2M Connectivity.
Developer kits for the Stellar products are available from M2M Connectivity. Orbcomm satellite service is focused on M2M communications and provides low cost, reliable, two-way data communications services around the world through a global network of 29 low-earth orbit satellites and accompanying ground infrastructure.
Mach Communications has developed a network service platform and tariff schedule designed specifically for M2M applications.
“Mach Communications allows developers of M2M devices the ability to provide a complete service by bundling airtime with their hardware,” Shane Murphy said.
