MYOB recently organised a series of webinars for accountants and IT consultants.
The webinars aimed to help participants make time for professional development, step away from the day-to-day running of their businesses and learn more about how to make business grow.
Held during May, the accountant’s webinar was hosted by Simon Martin, CFO of MYOB with guest speakers including Donna Hawes, the Financial Officer for Blueprint Ltd and Viv Brownrigg, CA and CEO as well as Founder of Business Fitness NZ.
They spoke on how to manage companies as they grew from small businesses to those with multiple budgets, multiple locations and even multiple companies.
Both Viv and Donna discussed ways in which MYOB EXO Business helps manage companies needing to incorporate new and changing business opportunities.
Jerome Fink, Finance Manager from a Sydney-based not-for-profit organisation said that what he most liked about the accounting webinar was that it wasn’t a hard sell.
“Other webinars I’ve seen have been all about a company selling its product. The MYOB webinar was all about training and general principles. There was no hard sell, just a great way to get up to speed in the industry.”
The IT webinar was hosted by Gary Katzeff, National Manager, MYOB Enterprise Division.
Guest speakers included Steven Honkoop, IT Manager for the Adelaide Football Club and Brendan Sheppard, Director Commercial IT Solutions.
The webinars were designed to help participants work out which ERP system suits existing business needs, but will also adapt to where the business is going.
MYOB EXO Business is built on SQL and designed to be secure, stable and more importantly, flexible with real-time reporting and real-time transactions allowing users to keep track of business processes as well as identifying and responding to new business opportunities.
Michael McAullay, a Partner in WM Consulting attended the webinar hosted by Simon Martin.
Based in Perth, WM Consulting has been operating for over a decade specialising in advising and providing hands-on accounting services to medium businesses.
Michael found the webinar not only convenient – with access to some key speakers in the comfort and convenience of the office – but also packed with information and advice that “was absolutely appropriate to where we are as a company right now”.
Michael said that WM Consulting had the added complexity of managing budgets that require reporting back to parent companies which are often offshore.
“The webinar provided us with some real answers to issues we have been dealing with.” he said.
As part of an MYOB Promotion, four lucky registrants won $1000 wotif.com holiday vouchers.
