MPower wins Roy Hill power generation contract

Supplier News

Leading power solutions provider in Australia and New Zealand, MPower has been commissioned to design and supply integrated power solutions for the Roy Hill Project’s Rail Marshalling Yard and Port Land Side Data Centre.

MPower signed the AU$1.5 million contract with Samsung C&T Corporation to design, engineer, manufacture and commission emergency diesel generators for two sites at Roy Hill’s port facilities located in Port Headland, WA. MPower secured this contract on the basis of having met the stringent technical specifications of the project.

Each of the four emergency diesel generators to be supplied by MPower will have a design life of 20 years and will be engineered to Roy Hill specifications to include Category Five cyclone rating to ensure the power equipment is operational and able to withstand typical coastal environmental conditions.

Specifications also include a low canopy, air sealed alternator and special air paths to make the generators appropriate for the conductive dust environment typical of iron ore mines.

MPower is proud to work alongside Roy Hill and Samsung C&T Corporation to deliver dependable power solutions to Australia’s mining industry.
