Packaging Automation (UK) will exhibit its new tray sealer, the eco-cut, at this year's PPMA exhibition. Packaging Automation equipment is distributed by MPI in Australia.
The in-line tray sealer has been designed to cut costs, reduce waste and increase productivity. Ease of use and good seal quality are combined with fast and efficient operation, with running time per reel of film increased and film snaps significantly reduced.
Extensive testing has been carried out to demonstrate the wealth of benefits from this new machine. These include film saving of up to 33% and a reduction in production downtime of 20%.
One customer who took part in the initial trials of the eco-cut reported its capacity to seal 8200 trays from just one reel of film.
As well as using less film, the eco-cut can accommodate thinner gauge film (14 microns), significantly reducing packaging costs and pack weight. And part of its green credentials, recycled PET (RPET) thermoformed trays as well as a variety of biodegradable and compostable packaging materials can be used.
Also on show will be the PA182 tray sealer, a semiautomatic machine in use for a diverse range of food and non food products.
Representing the filling side of Packaging Automation's offering at the exhibition will be Fastfill60 pot filling, heat sealing and over capping machine, which is suitable for many products including soups, sauces, dips, dressings, yoghurts, cream, liquid, desserts and many more.
Following recent technological developments, the Fastfill range can now be used to fill pots of ice cream and can be used with products that require modified atmosphere packaging.
