Leading manufacturer of high quality heat sealing equipment, Packaging Automation Ltd, has announced that it has secured an order to supply equipment to a prominent UK medical device manufacturer.
Packaging Automation has supplied a twin base rotary sealing machine to seal precision engineered medical implants into sterile blister packs at the customer's site in the north of England. Packaging Automation is represented in Australia by MPI.
The machine supplied is one of a number of specially designed machines from Packaging Automation suitable for packing a wide range of components and supplies for the medical industry, offering secure sealing, strict hygiene standards, and pack validation.
With seal integrity paramount, the machine is fitted with a direct pressure transducer to record the seal force applied. Seal parameters can be easily set and accurately monitored, if the seal force is outside these pre-set parameters the pack is rejected. A thermal printer is incorporated to provide a comprehensive record of the force applied, seal time, number of packs sealed, temperature and tool code to allow full traceability.
The machine supplied has two stations, one for loading and one for sealing and has an automatic tool identification system, which checks that the correct tool has been fitted. In addition, the machine offers automatic pressure adjustment from the HMI and has a number of safety features built in to ensure health and safety requirements are met.
As part of Packaging Automation's comprehensive service and support, customers can make use of the company's fully equipped test facilities to carry out development work with packaging materials and to develop concepts, as well as for testing and performance trials.
