PA182 tray sealer available from MPI Australia

Packaging Automation (UK)'s hire facility and flexible approach has once again provided the ideal solution for a specialist fruit company packing a seasonal product for a major UK high street retailer. Packaging Automation equipment is distributed by MPI Australia .

Every summer since 2004, UK-based The Dorset Blueberry Company has been hiring a PA182 tray sealer to pack blueberries, and with its past experience of Packaging Automation's cost effective finance options, reliable equipment and high level of service, 2008 will be no exception.

This summer the Wimborne-based fruit producer is switching from a PVC punnet to the more environmentally friendly rPET tray for its berries, and the versatile PA182 tray sealer was the machine it wanted for the job.

Keeping downtime to an absolute minimum is essential for fruit producers working to tight deadlines, and Packaging Automation's ability to deliver high quality equipment and a first-class back-up service has impressed The Dorset Blueberry Company's Managing Director David Trehane.

David Trehane said: "We are a seasonal business producing and packing fruit for a limited period in the summer and the PA182 is ideal for our needs. Packaging Automation has been flexible in their approach which enables us to deliver a high quality product to our customer. We have used PA's hire service since 2004 and will continue to use them."

David Trehane also highlighted Packaging Automation's speedy service - which means an engineer can be on site if necessary within 24 hours - even if it involves travelling down to Dorset from Packaging Automation's base in Knutsford, Cheshire.

With its robust construction, reliability and flexibility, the PA182 tray sealer is widely used by food companies throughout the UK and overseas. It accommodates trays up to 120mm deep as standard and can seal and trim from a reel onto trays of CPET, polypropylene, PVC, board and foil, for example.

The PA182 tray sealer has a small footprint, making it ideal for use in smaller production areas. The PA182 tray sealer’s hygienic design eliminates bug traps while tool changes can be carried out in two minutes.

The PA182 tray sealer also combines ease of use and portability, enabling it to be moved quickly from one production line to another if required.
