PACKAGING Automation has signed an exclusive distribution contract with MPI Australia for distribution of the full Packaging Automation range of machines from MPI's headquarters in Sydney and its other bases in Brisbane and Melbourne.
MPI was chosen after Packaging Automation executives visited a leading Australian packaging exhibition and had been impressed by both what they saw on the company's stand and by the enthusiasm and expertise of its staff.
''We liked what we saw when we went to AUSPACK in October and that, coupled with MPI's experience of working with two other UK manufacturers and having some experience of heat-sealing in the pharmaceutical sector, gave us every confidence they could to the job. And their professionalism impressed us too, along with the fact that they have three offices in the south-east of Australia and can cover the whole of the country's densely populated areas from them.” Packaging Automation's commercial manager Samantha Ashton said.
A PA182 semi-automatic heat-sealing machine, regarded as the workhorse of the Packaging Automation range, has already been installed for customer trials at MPI's showroom in Sydney.
“Our market research has identified the key areas where big growth is expected in the convenience foods sector and we will be targeting manufacturers in these areas.” said Ashton.
“This is where the growth in heat-sealing is going to be and we want to be at the forefront of that growth.”
