Sierra Express Modules

Sierra Wireless 3G/HSPA and CDMA Rev A modules for the M2M market are designed to the industry standard PCI Express Mini Card format making for easy integration into your hardware applications. Target application areas include point-of-sale, remote video, security, embedded and rugged computing, and remote M2M telemetry.

For 3G / NextG markets (850/1900/2100 Mhz) we have several models available:
  • MC8775 HSDPA tri-band PCI Express Mini Card offer peak download data rates of 7.2 Mbps. The voice (v) version offers simultaneous voice and data transmission, serial port (UART), and on-board GPS
  • MC8780 HSUPA tri-band PCI Express Mini Card offers uplink data rates up to 2.0 Mbps, and downlink data rates up to 7.2 Mbps. The MC8780 also offers receive diversity for improved fringe performance
  • MC8785v tri-band PCI Express Mini Card offers same performance as the MC8780 together with voice support, serial port (UART) and on-board GPS.
  • All the above models offer connectivity to three 3G/HSPA frequency bands (Telstra 850, 1900, 2100 MHz) and four EDGE/GPRS bands (850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz) allowing seamless global roaming on the best available network.
  • New models will launch in Q4 2008 to also work on the new 3G 900 MHz band to be used by Optus and Vodafone Australia/NZ

For CDMA we offer the dual-band MC5725 PCI Express Mini Card.

  • MC5725 offers peak download data rates of 3.1Mbps and peak upload data rates of 1.8Mbps. The MC5725 module is also compatible with widely available CDMA EV-DO Release 0 and 1X networks and will seamlessly switch without interruption.
  • The MC5725V variant includes voice capabilities making it an ideal option for customers wanting voice capabilities on their devices.

  • Serial (UART) interface option for quick migration of existing M2M applications to NextG/3G
