M2M Connectivity has signed to be the Australia and New Zealand distributor for Quake Global’s range of satellite modems.
M2M Connectivity will supply a range of Orbcomm modems including Quake Global’s lowest cost Q1000 satellite modem that features a small footprint measuring 6.4 x 6.4 x 1.6cms.
Also available is the Q1200, offering integrated satellite based communication capabilities with full RF/EMI protection and designed to ensure reliable operation in remote and severe environments.
For Iridium, M2M Connectivity offers the Q9612 satellite transceiver, contained within a small footprint measuring 10.9 x 6.4 x 1.9cms and designed to optimise two-way data links.
The Q9612 module has 9-18V power conditioning, can be installed directly onto a 12V vehicle, and is interfaced with an RS-232 serial port. The modem is programmable through an AT Command Set Interface. The Q9612 is an attractive solution for information-critical applications in almost every part of the globe.
Also available is the Q9601 which is smaller and lighter unit that draws less power and costs less than other satellite transceivers. The Q9601 has been designed as an OEM module for integration into applications that only use the Iridium Short Burst Data Service. Short Burst Data applications are supported through an RS232 interface.
The satellite modems from Quake Global enable the tracking and controlling of a variety of valuable assets located virtually anywhere on earth. Major applications include asset tracking for heavy equipment, aviation, maritime, trucking, rail, utilities, oil & gas, military and government.
