ONE of the most common causes of WorkCover claims -- lifting-related back injury -- can now be avoided when lifting heavy loads on and off popular one-tonne utes.
Loading these vehicles is now safe, simple and fast when a low cost LycoLoader is fitted.
Designed and built by Lyco Industries , the LycoLoader has no hydraulic or power systems to fail, takes no extra load area, and simply replaces the rear tailgate.
Weighing only 50kg, it has a safe lifting capacity of 300kg - ideal for drums, large cartons, machinery, appliances, building materials and the myriad other items trades and delivery people must load and unload every day.
The effort required to operate the loader is minimal and an integrated safety brake prevents accidental rapid lowering under load. Overload protection systems protect both the operator and the loader.
Dealers can easily fit the device to most popular one-tonne flat deck trays. It usually replaces the rear tailgate although side fitting is also possible. It is readily fitted to trays that are 1695mm or wider representing some 90 per cent of all trays on the Australian market.
The 'tailgate' folds down to horizontal, forming a load platform which is lowered and raised by means of a built-in hand wound winch system.
Should the vehicle need to back up to a loading dock, the LycoLoader is simply folded right down out of the way for direct loading at tray level.
