Leading pallet and container pooling solutions provider, Loscam
recently launched a new Trans-Tasman pallet rental service between New Zealand and Australia.
The new pallet rental service allows Loscam customers in New Zealand and Australia to transfer and dehire pallets after an export shipment, enabling significant savings and benefits. Previously, it was costly as well as environmentally unsustainable for customers to use one way pallets or pallets specially imported from Australia.
The new Trans-Tasman service saves money on loading and unloading times, reduces product damage and ensures the Australian standard pallets are reused in Loscam’s pool, reducing the waste potential.
Customers are already taking advantage of the new Trans-Tasman pallet rental service. According to Colin Truman, Customer Services Manager at leading New Zealand jam manufacturer, Barkers Of Geraldine, the company had to previously import pallets from Australia, or try and source pallets in New Zealand to send their products to Australian customers, including Coles and Woolworths. In some cases, the pallets used for sending products to Australia had to be thrown away by the customer, which was unacceptable.
However, having Loscam manufacture Australian standard pallets in Auckland gives them a guaranteed supply of pallets as and when needed to be able to send product to Australia. In addition to increased efficiency, the new pallets also reduce worries about product being damaged.
Speaking about the new service, Loscam Business Development Manager in New Zealand, Grant Lansdown says that Loscam aims to be recognised as the innovator of pallet and equipment rental services in New Zealand, growing their business significantly by listening to their customers and responding quickly to their needs.
