Supplier News

Logitech  has announced that it has won seven 2010 CES Innovations awards for excellence in design and engineering.

“Logitech are delighted that our products will be celebrated alongside other groundbreaking products from around the world. These products represent Logitech’s commitment to driving innovation, persistently striving to discover new ways to get people immersed in the digital world,” said Gerald P. Quindlen, Logitech’s president and chief executive officer.

Logitech’s award-winning products for 2010 include:

Honoree in Computer Peripherals: Logitech Anywhere Mouse M905
With it's Logitech Darkfield Laser Tracking, the Logitech Anywhere Mouse M905 can be used virtually anywhere including on glass and high-gloss surfaces that challenge the capabilities of standard mice. The Anywhere Mouse M905 uses dark field microscopy to detect microscopic particles and micro-scratches on these surfaces, rather than tracking the smooth surface itself. The Logitech Anywhere Mouse M905 is compact in size and has a  contoured shape that fits naturally into most hands, with back and forward buttons placed within reach of the thumb to help in surfing the Web efficiently.

Honoree in Home Theater Accessories: Logitech Harmony 900 Remote
The rechargeable Logitech Harmony 900 remote makes it simple to control TV, movies, games and music, even when the corresponding components are concealed behind cabinet doors. The Logitech Harmony 900 remote features a full-colour touch screen and intuitive button layout and its redesigned RF system allows for easy control of multiple devices from up to 100 feet away, without taping emitters to each device. The Logitech Harmony 900 remote's activity-based control allows the viewer to simply select what they want to do by choosing the appropriate on-screen icon – such as “Watch TV”. The Logitech Harmony 900 remote will do the rest – turn on the TV, the cable box, the A/V receiver and any other necessary devices.

Honoree in Audio Components: Logitech Squeezebox Radio
The compact, all-in-one Logitech Squeezebox Radio Wi-Fi music player lets the listener enjoy the simplicity of old-fashioned radio with the power of the Internet anywhere in the house. When connected to the home network access to Internet radio, personal music collections, and subscription services such as Napster, are all available. The colour screen can display album art, track and station information, visualizers and more. Automatic brightness adjustment and a built-in alarm clock make it ideal for the bedside table. Its compact size does not affect the sound quality with big, clear sound with minimal distortion coming from the built-in speaker.

Honoree in Audio Components: Logitech Squeezebox Touch
With its 4.3-inch color touch screen, the Logitech Squeezebox Touch Wi-Fi music player plays a world of music through a pre-existing stereo system. The Logitech Squeezebox Touch plugs into existing speakers, connects to the home network and is ready for use. Plus, to provide a better listening experience, the Logitech Squeezebox Touch supports sampling rates of up to 24 bits at 96 kHz, delivering rich sound with minimal distortion.

Honoree in Headphones: Ultimate Ears 700 Noise-Isolating Earphones
Music is heard the way it was meant to be heard with the Ultimate Ears 700 noise-isolating earphones. These earphones deliver the kind of audio quality used by 75 percent of the world’s touring professional artists including The Killers, Seal and The Jonas Brothers. The Ultimate Ears 700 noise-isolating earphones use a custom-tuned dual-armature microdesign that features two high-fidelity channels per ear for accurate sound reproduction in a compact design. The Ultimate Ears 700 noise-isolating earphones include an array of soft-silicone and Comply foam ear cushions for a comfortable fit while providing passive noise-isolation of up to 26 dB.

Honoree in Electronic Gaming: Logitech Flight System G940
Flight simulation feels like the real thing with the Logitech Flight System G940 and its realistic force feedback joystick, programmable dual throttle and authentic rudder pedals. The joystick’s award-winning force feedback technology allows confident aircraft control as the gamer feels the aircraft's movement as well as its reaction to air, turbulence and g-forces. The dual throttle allows control of the multi-engine aircraft using the split lever – or the levers can be locked when engines need to be operated in sync. Rudder pedals with toe brakes give true-to-life rudder control, for performing defensive maneuvers and crosswind landings, or piloting helicopters.

Honoree in Electronic Gaming: Logitech Wireless Guitar Controller
Available for the Wii, PLAYSTATION3, and the Xbox 360, Logitech Wireless Guitar Controllers are made of the high-quality materials expected to be found in real guitars, including a maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and metal frets. The noise dampening design of the strum bar and fret buttons minimizes audio distraction. The Logitech Wireless Guitar Controller also incorporates a touch-sensitive slider on the fret board to help in maximizing points in the game, Guitar Hero.
