Senior Government transport & logistics officials from the Yunnan Province in China recently converged on the Sydney office of Logistics Recruitment to understand the key issues facing the industry today.
The delegation was headed by Mr. Zhu Chengkuan, Director General of Road Transport and Logistics Group Co., Ltd and included Deputy Director Generals from all areas of transport and logistics throughout the Yunnan Province.
According to Mr. Nick Stolp, Director of Logistics Recruitment, the key issues that Yunnan Province is facing include: skills shortages, retention of key staff, dealing with tough infrastructure challenges, understanding the changing face of technology, trade with other parts of China and offshore trading.
Mr. Stolp believes a key issue for the transport and logistics industry in Yunnan is achieving efficient movement of products and shipments via road, rail, sea and air to other parts of China and the logistical difficulties faced with transportation in the region.
He says that having a delegation of this calibre visit his Sydney office builds on his work in China to date and recognises that Logistics Recruitment is a specialist provider that can assist the industry anywhere in the world. His goal is to help the industry recruit and retain staff and to better understand the human resource issues and trends that the industry is facing.
