McLaughlin Freight Lines has announced the acquisition of SPB Transport, for an undisclosed sum.
SPB Transport commenced operations in 1993 and has gone from strength-to-strength, now boasting a 25 truck fleet serving as a key transport provider to Australia’s multi-million dollar poultry industry. Founder of SPB, Simon Bartter, is an Executive Director at Australia’s second largest poultry producer, Bartter Enterprises, and sold the business to focus on the growth of the family company. McLaughlin Freight Lines have held a contract as a major feed cartage transporter for Bartter for a number of years, providing them with the experience and knowledge to continue servicing this industry with its expanded fleet.
According to Bartter Enterprises, the company will continue to grow and that with the benefit of Wayne and Diane McLaughlin’s experience and passion for the industry that they will continue to be a valued supplier to the poultry industry.
McLaughlin Freight Lines is based in Victoria, with a fleet of 42 units, specialising in pneumatic tanker logistics and refrigerated distribution on the east coast of Australia from Cairns to Melbourne, covering all major distribution points along the way. MFL now has depots in Melbourne, Griffith, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and Cairns.
