Logistics Bureau, the Australian and Southeast Asia-based supply chain consultancy has announced the launch of Logistics Bureau Europe.

The European venture, to be based in Birmingham UK, will be headed by Mark Ridge a well known strategic supply chain modelling and optimisation specialist.

Mark leaves Radical after more than 10 years service having joined what was then a small team of five in 1996.

Mark's previous tenure was characterised by globe trotting evangelism, a spirit that he will bring to the promotion and development of Logistics Bureau Europe.

Mark was quick to point out that Logistics Bureau Europe will offer more than network modelling services by saying, "Logistics Bureau in its home market of Australia and South East Asia is a broad-spectrum supply chain consultancy". Mark went onto explain, 'I have every intention to build on the Logistics Bureau brand and ethos which has been so successful on the other side of the world

It will not be without challenge because Logistics Bureau stand by the mantra that they actually guarantee the delivery of agreed project objectives.'

Rob O'Byrne Managing Director of Logistics Bureau, the parent company, has known Mark for almost ten years.

Rob and Mark have worked together on a number of supply chain consultancy assignments in Australasia and as a result formed a good working relationship. This relationship has evolved and Logistics Bureau Europe is the result.

O'Byrne comments, 'For sometime now I have admired Mark's skill set and even harboured thoughts about brining him out to join my team in Sydney. That option was not practical for Mark so the next best thing was to take the Logistics Bureau to Mark in Europe.'
