The manufacturer of Detroit Lockers, Truetrac limited slip differentials and NoSpin truck differentials, has released a new model Truetrac for the rear axle of the Landrover Defender.
The new unit suits the Salisbury design 24 spline axle, 4.10 and lower number ratios.
The spin controlling diff rounds off the existing option package for this vehicle, comprising the NoSpin automatic locking rear axle centre for wheelspin prevention and a Truetrac for spin control of the front axle.
Detroit Truetracs operate as open differentials, until different wheelspeeds cause the long helical gears to separate, breaking the faster wheel by friction in hardened pockets in the hemisphere case.
Locked Drive Systems , the manufacturer’s long established Australasian master distributor, is making these units available through differential specialists and the retail stores of the Opposite Lock group.
