TRACTECH, the designer and manufacturer of the NoSpin, Detroit Locker and Truetrac differentials has released the first of its driver controlled limited slip lockers - the Electrac.
Available from Locked Drive Systems , the Electrac has much more to offer than the basic driver operated locker. The key factor is the choice between a locked diff and a gear type limited slip diff - using the same mechanical system as the Detroit Truetrac.
This means that if the unit is unlocked, even on a difficult surface, the driver still has the benefit of wheelspin control through a quality LSD, unlike the designs that simply return to the traditional open type diff that actually causes wheelspin.
The driver selects the required option from a dash mounted switch - limited slip or full lockup - and the electric operation keeps control and activation simple and reliable.
The first model available is for the American Dana 44 axle which will be followed in due course by a range of models based on market demand.
