With a combined 95 years of forklift industry experience, Linde Materials Handling's new management team in Australian has the necessary pedigree to achieve the lofty standard that is constantly set by its parent company.

While Linde has globally been ranked at number one or two forklift company for decades, its Australian operation has never quite realised its potential.

The new management team, led by new managing director Carl Smith, gives the company its best chance of mirroring its global success.

"While we will not be driven by market share, our new direction will result in significant market share increases," explains Carl.

"Our goal is to provide genuine materials handling solutions through providing superior forklifts that are backed by the best support available. When we can demonstrate these strengths, the market share will follow.

"All that is easier said than done. This is why I have put in place a management team that has been there and done it - in the forklift industry.

“This is a unique industry. We are dealing with highly skilled and experienced logistics professionals who need forklift companies to not only understand their materials handling issues, but add real value in their suggestions."

The new Linde senior management team has a blend of specific Linde experience, both internationally and locally, and Australian forklift industry experience.

The team is:

Carl Smith - Managing Director

Andrew Satterley - General Manager, Sales & Marketing

Grant Stewart - General Manager, Fleet Management

James Withey - General Manager, Parts & Service

Mark Massey - General Manager, Human Resources

Ruben Ferrero - General Manager, Operations NSW/Victoria

Doug Shand General Manager, Operations Qld

Steve Hill - General Manager, Operations WA/SA

Georg Bommers - Chief Financial Officer

"To use a sporting analogy, we have quickly built a first class team, but it now requires a winning game plan,” Carl said.

“Unlike sport though, this game plan won't be based on our opposition strengths and weaknesses, it will be developed by our customers. Their feedback and suggestions will be very closely listened to. I promise that.”
