Traditional multi-head weighing systems use linear vibratory pans to move the product from the central dispersion point to the collating hoppers prior to weighing. Wet and sticky products cannot be moved in this manner, and have therefore been excluded from use on multi-head weighing systems.
CABINPLANT, a long time Danish manufacturer of multi-head weighing systems for the poultry and seafood industries in particular, have designed and released a new state of the art multi-head weigher with a specialised (patent pending) screw feeding system, which sets completely new standards for the weighing and filling of sticky and wet products.
The screw feeder system provides positive linear product displacement for such products such as marinated chicken portions, drumsticks, whole legs, breast fillets, tenderloins, fish portions, marinated and diced beef pieces, bone in and bone out products, pasta, and any other traditionally difficult to move products.
The machine is fully constructed in stainless steel with an IP67 wash down rating and can be disassembled without tools. Electronic controls, load cells, hopper motors, and operator controls via console are all standard, and the systems are available for volumes from one to five litres and 20 to 250 weighings per minute and with the typical accuracy of multi-head systems. Full turnkey systems are also available incorporating specialised CIP wash down bucket elevators, platforms, cross feeders, and filling stations, etc.
