Liebherr Australia will have its first showing of its new hydrostatic drive L 586 2plus2 wheel loader on Stand during AIMEX 2007 – Asia Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition, to be held at Sydney’s Olympic Park from September 4 to 7, 2007.
This loader is a new size for Liebherr (20.43t, 250kW) and is the flagship of the recently released generation 6 2plus2 range.
The 2plus2 system employs a variable flow pump and two variable axial piston motors that accelerate the loader continuously from standstill to maximum speed in either forward or reverse. Fuel savings of up to 35% over conventional loaders are claimed.
The engine and pump are mounted low at the rear of the loader, providing significant rear weight for high tipping loads without the need for a counterweight. This location also makes the engine and pumps readily accessible from the ground.
Liebherr will also be showing a new hydrostatic drive LR 634 crawler loader, and another 6-series wheel loader.
The LR 634 is the first generation 4 crawler loader and has an operating weight of up to 22.7t. It also uses the weight of the engine and hydraulic pump as an effective counterweight for the loader, and promises significant fuel savings over conventional crawler loaders.
The company is already well known in the mining industry for its large hydraulic excavators and face shovels, and UTS mining dump trucks.
