is employing its manufacturing capabilities to become a stronger player in finding solutions to maintenance and repair requirements of the mining industry.
Based in the NSW industrial heartland of Wollongong, the Australian engineering and fabrication services specialist has positioned its business as a complete bureau for outsourcing repair and engineering work in addition to equipping itself with more advanced skills to meet specific industry requirements.
Director and Design Engineer of the company, Mr Jason Leussink explains that the unique demands of the mining industry call for added attention to detail to ensure the solutions provide the client with the required competitive advantage and speed of delivery.
For instance, one of Leussink’s clients for whom they engineer and repair components and also manufacture a lot of OEM products, came with a proposal to manufacture their product on an OEM arrangement.
To provide the client a level of advantage as well as confidence in their methods, Leussink approached the task in a different manner to what industry normally expects. The engineering company sent two of their engineers to the USA to learn the manufacturing techniques and understand the requirements completely.
Once they were equipped with the required knowledge and skills, they returned to Australia and implemented the manufacturing know-how at Leussink’s own plant in Unanderra to produce that part to exact specifications and tolerances expected by the customer.
Leussink has a national market providing most industries with all types of engineering services, prototyping, emergency repair work, machining and manufacturing as well as welding and design engineering.
Its diverse markets range from small, repetitive parts manufacture through to design, manufacture and repair work for small and large items for the mining sector, railways and dockyards, production plants, construction, agriculture, automotive sector, steel, engineering, maintenance and public works.
