Lencrow Materials Handling has extended its support for The Smith Family Toy & Book Appeal by donating the use of material handling equipment for their Christmas Packing and Distribution Centres in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Lencrow will provide 5 x 2500kg forklifts and a number of hand pallet jacks.
The Smith Family is a national, independent children’s charity, helping disadvantaged Australian children to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
Happy to be involved in a great cause, Ross Grassick, General Manager of Lencrow congratulated The Smith Family for providing 90 years of support to disadvantaged families over the Christmas period.
The Smith Family was founded 90 years ago when five businessmen, concerned by the poverty that existed on their doorstep, visited an orphanage at Christmas, taking with them gifts of toys and sweets for the children. When asked who the children could thank, the men modestly answered, “Smith, we are all Smiths”. The anonymous benefactors vowed to continue their support for disadvantaged children and created the name it proudly bears today.
The forklifts donated are 2500kg units from Lencrow’s hire fleet of over 1500 units that cover a range from hand pallet jacks to container handlers. Lencrow also offers sale of new and used units as well as service and after sales support for all makes and models. Lencrow operates offices in all east coast capital cities in addition to a dealer network Australia wide.
