Lencrow Materials Handling continues on the path of environmental responsibility by installing a 30kW solar power system at their NSW workshops.
Designed to supply sufficient power to run the workshop and offices during the day, the system also has the capacity to power the charging of battery electric forklifts prior to delivery.
According to Ross Grassick - Managing Director of Lencrow, the company explored ways to reduce their carbon footprint. While expanding their range of electric powered forklifts and vehicles for sale and hire would benefit their customers, with not much impact on their own footprint, reducing power consumption was not an option.
Lencrow then decided to produce their own power by installing a solar power system, which was achievable at a reasonable cost with the added bonus of the system being almost totally invisible.
The system supplied by Energo employs 120 solar panels with a 25-year warranty and is regulated through two 15kW inverters. The unit was optimised to provide enough power to cover the building’s power usage in daylight hours. Lencrow’s new solar power system provides a 20-year Carbon Abatement of 818 tonnes of carbon.
Satisfied with the results, Lencrow plans to install similar solar power systems at their other sites.
