Lencrow Materials Handling has been awarded a contract by the RAAF for the supply of 12 air transportable five tone forklifts.
Lencrow has recently added a new range of Liftking heavy duty rough terrain forklifts to its fleet. With 500mm of ground clearance, wide track and long wheel base, Liftking’s range of 2-25 tone units is built for use in extreme conditions.
Mark Aldrovandi, International Sales Manager for Liftking explains that they build their rough terrain forklifts for the local environment where they have to mostly work in 600mm of snow or the mud that comes after the snow. Features such as larger tyres for better grip and 4-wheel steering meet the specific needs of their customers. The
RAAF contract for the supply of 12 rough terrain forklifts comes with very strict size and weight requirements as well as specifications for four wheel drive and steer in addition to the ability to work on any terrain and in water up to 1200mm deep. The units are due to be delivered in the New Year.
Ross Grassick, Managing Director of Lencrow who recently visited the Liftking factory in Toronto, Canada was impressed with Liftking’s ability to build forklifts to suit specific customer requirements. Quality control is performed in-house with many units being tested for more than a day before delivery.
Lencrow is an established name in the specialised all terrain forklifts market in both hire and sales. Lencrow’s reputation has been a key factor in RAAF’s decision to award them the contract as they need service backup as well as training in both operation and maintenance of the forklifts.
