Workplace Safety
As company Directors, Managers and Supervisors are now held accountable for their staffs actions through the Duty of Care and WorkCover legislations, Allforks can place emphasise on safety in your workplace.

Forklift Training
The duty of care legislation and WorkCover suggests correct Forklift Training should be part of the normal ongoing training register for staff.

As with all plant and equipment, adequate training must be provided under the OH&S Act of NSW and all personnel using the equipment must be licensed for this equipment.

NSW has substantial fines for unlicensed operators of machinery untrained operators and unlicensed equipment or attachments used with forklifts.

Forklift Training Guidelines
  • A forklift trainee must be under the guidance of a licensed operator, who is in eyesight and communication of the forklift operator at all times.    
  • The trainee needs to be at least 17 years old, and have a current and up to date log book which must be able to be presented to a WorkCover inspector.
  • Unfortunately forklift licences require the operator to be over 18 years of age, able to.
  • When driving a forklift you must have your operator’s ticket on the premises, preferably on your person, so it can be presented when asked for by WorkCover inspectors.
