Leica Geosystems exhibits fleet management solutions at Annual CIM Conference

Leica Geosystems  will showcase its fleet management solutions at the Annual CIM Conference this month.

CIM 2008 is to be held at the Shaw Centre in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada). An event which attracted approximately 5,000 participants in 2007, CIM 2008 provides visitors with the opportunity to meet exhibitors and reconnect with current suppliers.

From booth 401, Leica Geosystems will be presenting their GPS-based mine management product suite, which is hailed within the mining industry as being suitable for fleet management solutions.

Providing an opportunity for mine personnel of all levels (from operators through to supervisors) to meet with the Leica Geosystems team, visitors will be able to discuss their key business challenges, and learn about ways in which Leica Geosystems’ advanced technologies can help ramp up productivity levels and increase mine site revenue.

Products being showcased by Leica Geosystems' will include:

  • Leica series 3 Dragline Monitors, which provides material weights, material volumes and equipment delay information to mine site personnel for accurate dragline performance monitoring
  • Leica DragNav Plus, which uses full-colour graphical views so that operators can increase the amount of coal uncovered and minimise re-handle. It is the upgrade option for Leica Geosystems’ series 3 Dragline Monitors
  • Leica DrillNav Plus, which gives operators the ability to accurately navigate specific drill patterns to elevation (while eliminating the need for grade staking)
  • Leica DigNav Plus, which is designed for excavators and shovels and provide cut and fill information for an accurate dig
  • DozerNav Plus, which harnesses high precision GPS-based technologies to deliver real-time feedback on the location and height of mining machines

Tim Jones, Sales Manager for North America, says that “CIM is firmly recognised as a major event and gives visitors the opportunity to get hands-on and learn about the recent industry product releases and news.”

“I look forward to seeing visitors at booth 401 where we can discuss how Leica Geosystems products and services can improve mining processes.”

Leica Geosystems, with its acquisition of Tritronics and Jigsaw Technologies, has become one of the leaders in integrated mine production monitoring and GPS guidance solutions.

Delivering advanced mine management systems which are scalable, robust and innovative; Leica Geosystems’ provides mine sites with real-time graphical interfaces and GPS navigation displays so that overall operator performance and site productivity is maximised.

Founded on proven technology and ideal distributed database architecture, Leica Geosystems provides mine sites with the next generation in advanced tools for good control and optimisation of their operations.
