Leica Geosystems acquire Rinex Technology

Leica Geosystems  have announced the acquisition of Perth-based Rinex Technology. RINEX is one of Australia’s premier hardware and software companies for machine based GPS guidance systems. This strategic merger strengthens Leica Geosystems’ presence within the Western Australian mining and agriculture industries.

Leica Geosystems also officially launched their Western Australian office for mining systems. Leica Geosystems supply mine management, optimisation and GPS guidance solutions for mining machinery.

Leica Geosystems recently expanded their technical presence with the recruitment of key personnel including a WA Account Manager and Senior Project Engineer. Their local foundation is planned to play an important role in providing responsive support for Leica Geosystems’ mining customers, and to ensure that the delivery, implementation and ongoing operation of Leica Geosystems’ state-of-the-art systems are effectively supported at all times.

Speaking of Leica Geosystems’ advancement into the West Australian market, Kevin Greenwood, Vice President Mining Systems, said that the latest strategic acquisition and focused Western Australian expansion, in conjunction with the recent launch of their Jigsaw360 Mine Management Solution at MINExpo, signifies their commitment to the mining industry.
