LEGRAND Australia Pty Ltd has released AXIOM, a wireless system and breakthrough innovation in computer monitored emergency lighting.

"AXIOM is a significant innovation for Legrand and the industry, as it is the first system to use Radio Frequency (RF) technology to deliver a wireless computerised monitoring solution," said Legrand General Manager, Gary Uren.

"AXIOM has a demonstrated ability to cover distances up to 70 metres thanks to the RF. It’s been tested in difficult environments and has proved immune to all kinds of electrical interference.”

Legrand engineers designed AXIOM based on the highly successful Minitronics Commander System.

AXIOM comes with a new generation of Wireless Area Controller (WAC) that does away with the branch cable network servicing each local area. The WAC is both a stand alone computer and radio transceiver that regularly communicates with up to 100 Single Point Units (SPU), varying from exit signs, to battens to anything in the Minitronics range.

"The AXIOM is robust because the SPU's act as transmitters communicating with each other as well as the WAC, delivering 100% coverage,” said AXIOM product manager, Greg Barker. “Each SPU has self optimising technology, which provides increased reliability."
