LEAR Siegler has released the GasAlertClip Extreme disposable gas detector. Users press the start/test button to begin two years of continuous, maintenance-free operation.
It has an IP-66/67 housing, a concussion-proof boot and a stainless-steel belt-clip. The LED shows detector life remaining, alarm setpoints and peak alarm exposures.
The detector's life remaining is displayed in months, day, then hours. A self-test verifies sensor, circuitry and battery integrity along with the audible, visual and vibrator alarms.
Stored data can be transmitted directly by IR link to a cordless infrared printer for immediate printout, or to a personal computer by means of an IR adaptor connected to the computer's USB port.
It has two alarm setpoints used to activate a high output 95dB (typical) audible alarm, a bright, wide-angled, quad-LED visual alarm and a built-in vibrator alarm. It clips onto the lapel, pocket, belt or hard-hat.
