MICHELL Instruments' intrinsically safe hygrometers have been granted ATEX certification for use in a wide range of hazardous area applications, from natural gas transmission to dew point monitoring in hydrogen-cooled generator sets.
Michell Instruments, represented by Lear Siegler , has developed a range of instrumentation that provide accurate and reliable measurement of the moisture content and hydrocarbon dew point in natural gas, from extraction to the consumer.
The range of products includes:
* Transmet IS -- an easy to install dew point transmitter for the measurement of the moisture content of flammable and non-flanunable gases, which has been specifically designed for use within hazardous areas.
Transmet IS is ATEX certified by EECS for use in hazardous areas to Ex II 1G EEx ia IIC T4 when used with a pair of isolation or shunt diode barriers for signal and power supply connections.
Transmet IS has been FM listed (USA) CL1, Div l, GpA, B, C & D, T4 and CSA (Canada) certified to Ex la (Class 1, Groups A, B, C & D). Transmet IS can therefore be safely used in virtually all industrial gas measurement applications.
* Cermet II IS -- a self-contained hygrometer system for measurement of the moisture content of flammable and non-flammable gases within hazardous areas.
It comprises an intrinsically safe transmitter, Transmet IS, and a safe area Cermet II IS control unit, and therefore can be used safely in most industrial gas measurement applications.
* Cermax IS portable hygrometer -- provides raw performance, rugged reliability and advanced features for measuring the dew point of non-flammable and flammable gases within petrochemical, natural gas plants and other hazardous areas.
It provides the site chemist and operational staff with an effective means to check the moisture concentration at any point in the process.
Cermax IS is certified by Baseefa (2001) for use in hazardous areas to Ex II 1G EEx ia IIC (155ºC) T3 and also FM (USA) listed to intrinsically safe CL1, Div1, GpA, B, C & D T3C and CSA (Canada) to Ex ia IIC T3 (Class 1, Div 1, Groups A, B, C & D).
