Lawson Software , a global provider of enterprise resource planning software applications has launched Lawson Business Intelligence solution for manufacturing and distribution customers in the Australia and New Zealand market. The launch delivers on one of the key objectives of Lawson’s April 2006 merger with the former Intentia International AB, which is to expand product availability and vertical market focus in Europe and the entire Asia Pacific region.
Lawson Business Intelligence is a powerful standard based business intelligence solution that enables creation of customised, comprehensive dashboards and smart notification reports to put critical information at users’ fingertips. The solution helps customers extract, store, analyse and transform company data into the meaningful information they need to make faster, more strategic decisions.
Lawson Business Intelligence solution is offered as an integrated component of the Lawson product line, providing customers in the region with a broad range of enterprise software applications covering the unique needs of key markets including fashion, food and beverage, distribution and maintenance.
According to Lawson Software, essentially it means that customers of the former Intentia which did not traditionally offer a business intelligence reporting tool, will now have access to sophisticated reporting and data analysis functionality on the market today at lower total cost of ownership.
This BI product is also based on the same advanced Java technology that the entire Lawson M3 and S3 application suite is built upon, simplifying integration into the backbone ERP system.
One of Lawson’s existing ANZ customers to adopt the BI solution is Sutton Tools, an Australian manufacturer and distributor of quality cutting tools and accessories. Sutton Tools opted for the Lawson solution based on its functionality and usability.
According to Sutton Tools, it decided to implement Lawson Business Intelligence to enhance Sutton Tools’ executive reporting capabilities and arm senior management with tools such as its executive dashboard with the type of at a glance view of its business critical information that it previously lacked, Sutton recognised the value of having an easy-to-use application, fully integrated with Lawson ERP solution, which will allow Sutton Tools to more efficiently extract, analyse and make use of the extensive data available in the enterprise system.
Lawson Business Intelligence is a powerful proposition, and the proof of this is in the fact that many of Lawson Software Intelligence’s Australian and New Zealand customers are expressing interest or are already committed to rolling out the solution as part of its existing M3 system The initial interest Lawson Business Intelligence solution has received from customers in ANZ has been phenomenal.
