INTENTIA has launched the Intentia Application Suite (IAS) 5.2 upgrade.
This software release addresses the challenges mid-market companies face in implementing and integrating enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to optimise their investments of time and money for competitive advantage. Intentia does this through industry-specific functionality and a commitment to open standards and platform standardisation.
At the core of the IAS 5.2 release is the provision of local market-specific functionality for all major regions immediately upon installation, which significantly reduces the elapsed time and administrative costs previously needed to implement and upgrade systems across multiple geographic regions.
In its efforts to further standardise infrastructure, three of the IAS core offerings, e-Sales, e-Procurement and Workplace, now operate on IBM's WebSphere platform, allowing for effective, automated collaboration throughout the supply chain. This integration enables enterprise users to reduce their total cost of ownership.
The commitment to open standards also applies to automated message handling, which is managed by a new version of Movex Enterprise Collaborator (MEC). This application has been enhanced to handle a higher volume of electronic transactions within a centralised and standardised message infrastructure that now manages all communications within the applications throughout the entire supply chain.
Additional features include closed-loop performance analysis, integrated mobile services and supplier relationship management solutions.
The software includes Intentia Performance Analysis (IPA), a complete, pre-packaged business performance solution that includes a rapidly installed data warehouse and end user base reports.
It provides managers with the information they need to make better, timely business decisions. As a closed-loop solution, IPA gives a unified view of business, customers, products and suppliers. It also gives visibility of how supplier prices have changed over time so that companies can quickly pass on cost increases to their customers.
Following successful pilot projects, Intentia Mobile Service is now generally available. It provides field engineers a real-time connection with the Service Order application and reduces the time that engineers spend on administration, which means they have more service time out in the field.
Mobile Service covers all aspects of a field service business by supporting call handling, preventive maintenance, service contracts, warranties, spare parts replenishment, inventory management and invoicing.
It enables field service engineers to work efficiently and easily in the field with access to information such as service level agreements, and warranty and service object information.
Supplier relationship management solutions, previously only considered appropriate for large companies, are now a very effective way for mid-market companies to save time and money.
Intentia e-Procurement 5.2 has one point of integration and single sign-on abilities, making it easier to gain control over internal procurement needs and indirect spending.
Many mid-market companies have limited automated processes in place for monitoring indirect spending, which becomes further complicated with the typical decentralised procurement policy.
With e-Procurement 5.2, Intentia customers can achieve a centralised view of their spending that enables improved supplier management and increased purchasing power, as well a reduction in time spent manually tracking and analysing these costs.
