Blue Wing Honda First to Go Live on Lawson M3 10.1 in ANZ Region

Lawson  Software announces that Blue Wing Honda is the first customer in the Australia and New Zealand region to complete the implementation of the latest release of Lawson for Distribution.  

Lawson is a global provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software applications while Blue Wing Honda is the official New Zealand importer and distributor of Honda road motorcycles, off-road motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).  

Designed for distribution companies, Lawson M3 version 10.1 will manage Blue Wing Honda’s high volumes and complex supply chain to help deliver exceptional customer service.  

Blue Wing Honda is headquartered in Greenlane, Auckland and operates a nationwide motorcycle distribution and support network through its 50 franchised Honda motorcycle dealers, with major warehouses in Manukau and Christchurch.  

The company manages the distribution, marketing and sales of tens of thousands of whole goods and parts lines across multiple product categories.  

According to Bob Boniface, chief executive officer of Caspex Corporation, the parent company of Blue Wing Honda, the new Lawson M3 10.1 solution has replaced a 10-year-old legacy system, allowing them to better manage the distribution of goods to customers through their dealer network.  

The Lawson solution was chosen after a very intensive review of available distribution software systems against the parameters developed over 10 years with previous systems and against future expected developments in distribution best practice.  

He adds that the Lawson distribution solution now allows them to build greater efficiencies throughout their supply chain and sales processes.  

David Hope, general manager and regional managing director, Lawson Asia Pacific & Japan says that the implementation of the new Lawson solution enables Blue Wing Honda to evolve its offering to a more service-driven model designed to keep its customers happy.  

The Lawson solution was implemented on an IBM Power6 System i with Integral Technology Group providing technology infrastructure support.
