Lawson Software , a global provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, has announced that RYCO Hydraulics, a leading manufacturer and global distributor of quality hydraulic hoses and fittings, will implement Lawson QuickStep Manufacturing. The Lawson QuickStep solution is a pre-configured ERP package designed to help manufacturers achieve faster business results. RYCO Hydraulics will use it to help address its manufacturing industry-specific business needs, including visibility across global supply chains. The solution will also give the company the ability to manage a diverse range of products, as well as support a variety of product delivery and supply methods. The contract was signed during Lawson’s fourth quarter of fiscal 2009, which ended May 31, 2009.
Headquartered in Footscray, Victoria, Australia, RYCO Hydraulics commenced manufacturing operations in 1946. Since then, it has continued to invest in the expansion of its product range, particularly in the area of quality high-pressure hydraulic hoses and fittings. It has manufacturing centres based in Melbourne in Australia, as well as Dalian in China and Kuala Ketil in Malaysia. A network of distributors, as well as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and defence organisations, support the company’s product range across the globe.
The contract with Lawson follows RYCO Hydraulics’ decision to upgrade to a fully integrated, enterprise-wide information system capable of supporting future expansion and increasing business complexity across its global operations.

Under the contract, RYCO Hydraulics purchased several add-on applications including Lawson M3 Sales and Marketing Automation, Lawson e-Sales, Lawson Business Intelligence (including the Business Performance Warehouse module), Lawson Learning Accelerator, Lawson Demand Planner, Lawson Multisite Planner and Lawson Warehouse Mobility.

The Lawson Professional Services team will commence the Lawson implementation project at RYCO Hydraulics immediately and will work on a phased approach to roll out. The new Lawson solution will be built on an IBM System i platform provided in conjunction with Synergy Plus, which will replace a legacy HP 3000/ix system.
