LAMSON Concepts has introduced a loss prevention system, the Trolley Guard System. This trolley limits the losses incurred by shopping centres that lose shopping trolleys and reduces the retrieval expenses by up to 98%.
Trolley Guard is fitted to each shopping trolley and stops the trolley from being taken out of a predetermined area adjacent to the shopping centre.
The Trolley Guard System ensures customers can walk around freely with the shopping trolley within a predetermined area selected by the client - for example the shop, parking lot and even the entire shopping centre.
The minute the customer takes the trolley outside the designated area, the special Trolley Guard wheel locks and the customer can go no further.
The Trolley Guard System consists of an underground antenna cable that is in communication with the shopping centre trolleys through the Trolley Guard control panel located in the shop.
The system can be applied to both new and existing trolleys with only one Trolley Guard wheel required per trolley with the rest being standard wheels.
Anyone who walks out of the area with a trolley will immediately be unable to move the trolley, which can only be freed up by the store owner who is supplied with a reset controller.
The radio signal that activates the Trolley Guard can be up to 1.5m above the ground and it is therefore very difficult to disable the function of the system.
