Loctite (Henkel Australia) presents the new and improved retaining compounds, now better than ever with an innovative formula upgrade developed by experts from Adhesive Technologies.
The two upgraded solutions, Loctite 648 and Loctite 638 deliver greater reliable strength, even on metal parts that have not been cleaned, which is a common problem in manufacturing processes.
Loctite 648 and 638 retaining compounds deliver optimal performance at temperatures of up to 180°C, adding value to manufacturing processes as well as maintenance and repairs as they provide excellent bonding on an extended range of designs and surfaces.
The innovative new formulas deliver the additional benefit of reliable bonding strength while continuing to provide superior cure speed, strength and shelf life as before.
Dr Niamh O'Reilly from the Adhesive Technologies Product Development department observes that Loctite 638 and 648 offer customers increased reliability and greater heat resistance.
The anaerobic retaining compounds are used to secure bearings, bushings, gears and cylindrical assemblies into housings or onto shafts. They distribute stress evenly and reduce corrosion, making the moving parts more reliable and reducing the need for expensive additional machining and surface-finishing measures.
The new Loctite retainers have been certified to meet high standards by several industry-leading quality standards organisations.
Dr Bettina Temath, Product & Technology Manager adds that customers worldwide already use Loctite’s new retaining compounds in demanding applications including machine and vehicle manufacturing as well as maintenance applications.
