Enclosed switches suitable for the harsh Australian conditions were introduced more than 25 years ago, and have been installed successfully in a wide range of applications.
Since 1988, millions of KS/KT/KL enclosed switches have been sold in Australia and around the world, and used in applications from solar PV to refrigerated warehouses at -40°C and in tropical areas at temperatures up to 70°C. Featuring IP66/67 and IK07 rated enclosures, the switches have performed flawlessly under dry, wet and humid conditions.
Kraus & Naimer is accredited to ISO9001 and has implemented strict quality control procedures throughout the entire manufacturing process to ensure high quality and reliability. Product compliance to relevant standards is ensured through accredited independent test labs, with the company also using in-house facilities to test products in real life situations.
Reinhard Gansfusz, International Sales Manager from Kraus & Naimer explains that the enclosures for these switches are designed for high performance in a wide range of environmental conditions. Made from UV stabilised plastic material featuring stainless steel lid screws with no failures reported, the enclosures have been mounted on panels in the K&N real life testing facility for over 20 years and are still in excellent condition. Function testing of these enclosures is carried out regularly.
Kraus & Naimer enclosed AC switches have been installed under harsh Australian outdoor conditions with no structural degradation. Five years ago, Kraus & Naimer expanded upon this popular range of enclosed switches by adding a range of DC isolators designed specifically for the solar industry in Australia and New Zealand.
