World-leading crane service organisation, Konecranes
has awarded its Australia-New Zealand business the global safety award for outstanding performance among operations spanning 47 countries, 609 locations and 11,700 employees.
The global safety award is a major honour across the entire Konecranes organisation, which has established itself as a leading producer of safety-oriented lifting technology and as an international advocate of safety at the workplace.
Announcing the global safety award for 2011, Australasian Managing Director Mr Brad Hyem said that the award was a result of long-term focus and effort by every employee within Konecranes Australia and New Zealand across 31 locations. He also complimented the entire team led by Konecranes National Training and Occupational Health and Safety Manager, Mr Brad Leckie, whose efforts on safety awareness have resulted in remarkably few lost-time accidents in the company’s manufacturing and maintenance operations.
Complementing its safety culture, Konecranes also provides their customers a wide variety of smart technologies that allow for safer, more controlled movement of loads to prevent damage or business disruption.
Konecranes has also introduced the Crane Reliability Surveys and Third Party Inspections service for industry, designed to ensure that users of all makes and models of cranes are fully compliant with the latest Australian Standards governing their use.
Konecranes has more than 410,000 cranes of all makes under service contract worldwide and is also one of the world’s leading manufacturers of overhead cranes for a broad range of major industries including mining and energy, manufacturing and metal fabrication processing, ports and shipping, resources infrastructure and manufacturing, packaging and paper processing as well as workshop and heavy maintenance.
