KONE EcoDisc™ - The “Green Machine”

The KONE EcoDisc™ gearless elevator hoisting machine is compact, environmentally friendly and supports the principals of sustainable development.

Function/Applications
• Developed primarily to support, to date, our most sustainable products, the KONE MonoSpace® and KONE FuRe™ both provided without machine room in low rise low speed applications, the EcoDisc™ utilises rare earth permanent magnets to provide a compact drive with relatively very low power consumption, low starting and running currents and high reliability.

• Even KONE MonoSpace® and EcoDisc™ machines utilised for medium and very high rise buildings can take advantage of the power and space saving benefits available from our larger EcoDisc™ gearless drive machines.

• Future proofing of existing private homes with KONE HomeLifts™, or development of Green Star Rated Retail and High Rise commercial premises can all be supported by KONE EcoDisc™.

• Existing buildings needed to be provided with a variety of different elevator technologies to meet differing building user needs.

• Inefficient geared and power hungry oil dependent hydraulic drives were often used.

Differentiating Features
The KONE EcoDisc™ drive can handle from 320 kg to 5000 kg load with speeds from 1.0 metres per second to 9.0 metres per second and beyond.

All at an amazing motor power factor of up to 0.92

Customers can experience KONE EcoDisc™ either for the basis of elevators for new buildings, full replacement of old technology lifts in existing buildings and the upgrade of lifts where full replacement is not the optimal solution.
