Komatsu has been recognised by CDP as one of the most advanced companies in the world for their performance in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The CDP organisation analyses corporate engagement in global climate change, evaluating corporate efforts and performance of the world's largest 500 companies to tackle global climate change. In its Global 500 Climate Change Report 2013, CDP ranks Komatsu's performance in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the manufacturing and supply chain processes as a leading company in the world.
Specifically, CDP evaluates corporate information disclosures on a scale of 100 points, and corporate performance in the five grades of A, B, C, D and E.
Komatsu received 95 points in the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index and an ‘A’ grade in the Climate Performance Leadership Index. Komatsu was the only Japanese company ranked ‘A’ in the Industrial sector.
Recognising environmental efforts as one of its highest priority tasks, Komatsu is aggressively making efforts to reduce its environmental impact, including greenhouse gas emissions in all aspects of its corporate activities.
