The basic stretch wrapper can also be moved with a forklift or a hand pallet truck, and it can also be stowed away on a rack when not required. The King pallet inverter has no hydraulics to leak or puncture. It is electro-mechanical and fills a niche in the market where a clean, non polluting system is the preferred option.
According to King Materials Handling, pallet inverters can swap in house pallets for hired pallets. These inverters are used to replace damaged pallets quickly to unpack and repack a load onto another pallet. The pallet inverters exchange damaged pallets when used in an automated racking system, as damaged pallets cause the system to shut down. Loads need to be fully inspected to determine if they have damage to bottom layers and an inverter is the speedy way to do this.
King Materials Handling note that wooden pallets need to be replaced by plastic pallets in food and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Inverters also inspect the load base before the transfer.
