LABOUR intensive standard carriage bolts are being replaced by a new re-useable vibrating screen tensioning system from Kinder & Co that reduces downtime in screen mesh changes for the mining, quarrying and bulk process industries.

Requiring only a hammer blow to tension or remove any screen mesh, the threadless K-Wedge Bolt has proven its efficiency in applications where screen panels are changed regularly.

A firm, yet simple hammer blow properly tensions screen mesh panels, either wire or rubber, using the age-old method of the simple wedge.

The unique design ensures that the wedge will not work loose during the vibrating action of the machine. In turn, the time associated by using a traditional shifter to fit or remove threaded carriage bolts is reduced dramatically.

No machine modifications are necessary to fit the wedge tensioning system, and the unit will suit almost all machine makes and types as the design is "one size fits all". The length of adjustment can be varied by adding additional adjustment washers.

Having hitherto been reliant upon conventional screen tensioning methods, carriage bolt and spring, many companies have found the K-Wedge Bolt reduces the changeover time for a complete screen deck by between 30-45 minutes.
