K-Redi-Liner polyurethane and ceramic chute liners available from Kinder & Co were supplied to the St Peters rail terminal to replace the existing steel liners.
This customer operates four quarries and two rail terminals that supply the Sydney and broader market with quarry products such as aggregates and sand. The rail terminal at St Peters transports the aggregates and sand into eastern Sydney from the quarry at Dunmore on the South Coast.
Rail transport is considered a more sustainable method of transport as it allows larger loads on a single trip, quicker transport of loads, and lower fuel costs and overall fossil fuel emissions.
Keeping the noise levels low was a major problem for the customer at the St Peters rail terminal, which was located in an urban area, only 7km from Sydney’s CBD. The customer sought a different type of chute liner to replace their existing steel liner, one that absorbed the noise, and at the same time weighed lighter and would last longer.
K-Redi-Liner polyurethane chute liners and ceramic chute liners installed at the rail terminal are performing to the satisfaction of the customer. In addition to the easy installation of the panels, the chute liners have reduced the noise levels dramatically.
Moreover, the customer had the flexibility to install the panel lining system of the K-Redi-Liners in a configuration that specifically matched their needs, eliminating any challenges of access in confined areas. After 18 months of constant use, there is very little wear on the K-Redi-Liners.
