Kinder & Co recently installed the K-Impact belt support system at a client’s facility to resolve maintenance and material spillage issues.
The customer was experiencing two major problems; the primary problem was potential mechanical failure due to excessive load, and the second problem involved the need to reduce material spillage.
The original trough support frames at the key loading zone area were beginning to show signs of wear, accelerated partly due to the increased output; however, the trough frames were not suitable for heavy loads.
The existing trough supports not only required an increasing amount of maintenance but they were creating significant levels of spillage that had to be cleared manually on a daily basis. Following consultation with Kinder & Co’s Sales Engineer, the customer decided to install the K-Impact belt support system.
The client also requested a few design modifications at the time of installation. The customer sought to create quick release pins for ease of installation and ongoing maintenance. It was also decided after mutual consultation between the client and Kinder & Co to add holes in the side supports to enable a chain or sling to retract the side for ongoing maintenance.
